What is the purpose and the lawful basis for the processing of your data?

Syllâbus will process the personal data collected through the forms available in this website for the following main purposes:

Form for creating a user account: managing the creation of your user account, allowing you to perform certain actions such as asking for a reservation at our facilities.

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is the provision of the service for the execution of the Contract, understood as the Terms of Use accepted for sending your data through the user account. The processing of your personal data for the abovementioned purpose is necessary to comply with what is established in the Terms of Use.

Form for collecting data to formalize the reservation: Saving your data in order to resume the reservation process at any moment. In case you don’t move forward with the reservation, Syllâbus will contact you to assist in what you need to complete it.

The processing of your personal data is necessary for the execution of the necessary precontractual measures to formalize the reservation of the accommodation. Likewise, the processing may be understood as justified by the legitimate interest of Syllabus having started the process of formalizing a reservation.

Reservation form: Managing the reservation of the selected accommodation and, in case it’s confirmed, we will contact you to carry out the residency admission and booking process.

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is the execution of the contract, understood as the contract you subscribe for sending your reservation request. The processing of your personal data for this purpose is necessary to comply with what is established in this contract.

Contact form: Contacting you and answer doubts and queries sent through it.

Newsletter subscription form: Contacting you to send information about our products, services and offers that might be of your interest now or in the future.

“Visit us” form: Managing a visit to the residence of your interest.

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data for the purposes mentioned in the contact, newsletter subscription and requesting a visit is your express consent. Please be informed that you may revoke your consent at any moment, without affecting the legality of the processing based on the consent prior to its withdrawal.

On the other hand, and only if you have consented it, we will process your personal data for commercial purposes that may include contacting you to inform about details of products, services and offers that might be of your interest now or in the future. As for the personal data collected for emergency situations and guarantors, they will not be used except when it’s admitted for the corresponding reservation.

 

What categories of data do we process?

In order to fulfill the purposes detailed in the previous section, in Syllâbus we will process mainly identification and contact information such as your name and surname, ID, address, date of birth, phone number and email.

 

What other recipients will the data be disclosed to?

Syllâbus will not disclose your personal data to third parties, except to comply with a legal obligation.

Our processing activities may require personal data to be transferred to other countries outside the European Union. As required by law, we will only make these transfers to countries or organizations that provide an adequate level of protection of personal data. The transfer of the data will not affect your rights or our obligations under the GDPR, as our international data transfers are covered by the Privacy Shield.

On the other hand, please note that the provision of the services described requires the support of third-party service providers. These third parties may have access to your data and will act in our behalf, under our responsibility and following our instructions. Under no circumstances they will have access to your data for their own purposes.

 

How long do we retain your personal data?

Syllâbus will retain your personal data as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they have been collected. Specifically, those personal data provided only to manage a query through the contact or chat forms will be kept for a period of one month, except in cases where Syllâbus is required to keep said data for a longer period under a legal obligation, so such as those related to the visit form while such visit is being managed and as long as legal actions related to it can be derived.

Regarding personal data provided for commercial purposes, they will be kept as long as the data subject doesn’t require its deletion.

Finally, personal data provided for the reservation of accommodation spaces will be kept as long as you have a commercial relationship with us and, once finished, while legal actions related to the reservation may be derived.

 

What are your rights as affected individual?

Please be informed that you are entitled to exercise certain rights related to the processing of your personal data such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction of the processing, objection or data portability.

You can exercise these rights by sending a message to the email address privacy@greystar.com. The exercise of these rights is free of charge unless of manifestly unfounded or excessive requests.

If you consider that Syllâbus has not processed your personal data in accordance with the applicable regulations, you can file a complaint with the competent regulatory authority through the website www.agpd.es.
